IRONMAN EARPHONES REVIEW
I was given a pair of IRONMN Earphones to use and review from Seven Summits gear. They were used during a 5K event and they stayed in place throughout the entire duration which is amazing since I have really tiny ears. The sound qualtiy was awesome without any interference of wind, etc. I can even use them to talk on my iphone4. These earphones are also water resistant evidenced by my running through a water sprinkler to cool off during the 5K. I would recommend these earphones to anyone who enjoys walking/running that has had difficulty with other earphones staying in place. Thank you Seven Summit Gear!

This is the link to find out more about becoming an ambassador for Team Marathon as well as various other teams that may be recruiting. So far, I have enjoyed being an Ambassador for MARATHON Bars! I really hope to be able to do this again next year.

Race for the bears 5K
Tomorrow I will be running 5K race, "Running with the bears", in Macon, GA. Several of my training friends I have been running with each Saturday are also planning on running. We will be wearing our matching team Galloway shirts. I am really hoping since I ran a half-marathon last month, that I will improve with my speed for the 5K race. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will at least place in my age group. Stay tuned for picutres!
The big race in Savannah is fastly approaching. I am hoping it will be somewhat easier than my first half marathon I did without any training. I am using the Galloway method of run 1 minute/walk 1 minute. I may or may not tamper with these intervals, but well see how things feel tomorrow. If I decide to try running faster, I will speed up the intervals and see how that works. SO far, using the galloway method, I have been pain free and have been seen running across the finish line with a big smile on my face instead of coming in looking and feeling like I'm about to pass out!

Half-Marathon "Make It by Midnight"
Untitled by devie@windstream.net at Garmin Connect - Details
I completed my first half-marathon last night!! I did it!! It was a very hot, humid, and very hilly. Oh, I forgot, it was also at night and it was completely dark. We did have flashlights that were given to us along with a nice water bottle (the kind that wraps around your hand). I used it the entire time which made going to the bathroom challenging since we were running in a nice neighborhood with not porter potties in site. So, what's a girl suppose to do? When you drink that much water, you've got to go! SO I found little spots along the side of the road when I knew noone was coming my way.
By mile 5, I was starting to feel the heat and humidity. By mile 8, I was starting to think I was going to die. By mile 10, I was wishing that I was. But, when my garmin showed 11 1/2 miles, I knew I just had to suck it up and just do it!! I was so glad when I was finished. It took 3:20 to complete the course. I did earn a medal and that made it worth it. I was able to share some Marathon Bars, but I didn't take pictures before the race and looked so terrible after the race, that I didn't take but one picture of me wearing the Team Marathon gear.
By the end of the event, I really thought I had hurt myself and would be in bed for several days. Surprisingly though, when I got home, I took a cold bath. I also took 2 ibuprofen. Today, I feel much better than I did last night. I am so glad I endured this challenge because today, I feel more confident in reaching for any goals I may set for myself in the future.

Mountains Trip
I just returned from Cherokee, NC and had an awesome time with beautiful views! The weather was so much better to run in and I found myself running longer periods of time without even realizing how far I had ran. I enjoyed running down the road of the mountain with the view of the beautiful river to my side. The sites and sounds from running outside in Cherokee makes me want to move north!
I went white water rafting for the first time which was 8.4 miles down the cold river that was only 45 degrees!! It took about 2 hours to complete. We went down thrilling level 3 and 4 rapids with a huge dip as the grand finale! I was thankful we all stayed in the raft without falling out. Great fun that I will do again.

Training for the Half!!
Make it by midnight half marathon is fastly approaching! I'm getting nervous and excited since this will be my first time. The goal is to complete 13.1 miles before the clock strikes midnight. I will begin shortly after 8:00p.m. Of course, I will be wearing my official Team Marathon gear and will be educating others about the benefits the Marathon Bars will have when they take off at 8:00. I will be giving samples and coupons!
So glad Donna will be there meeting the challenge with me!
Here is a map of the run.

Something New
After riding bikes with my sister and realized the impact it had on my workouts with running and in the gym, I am hooked! I loved riding bikes for the first time. However, since I have not been on a bike in years, I must be truthful in saying my bottom hurts! I was told to get some cycling shorts that have pads in them which will help. But, mercy! How can anyone go so far on a bike if they aren't comfortable on the seat? My next advice was to get costum fitted for my bike if I choose to get one and I am planning to in the next couple of weeks.
My question: Which better bike is more proficient the Raliegh or the Trek? I did look at a Womens Raleigh 2.0 and really liked it. But, I'm new to the cycling and biking thing. Any suggestions? Please feel free to comment and advice. Thanks!

Marathon Bars
So far, of the five flavors MARATHON® Bar has to offer, my favorite is the crunchy peanut butter with choclate choclate. It gives me the energy needed to get through that mid-morning hunger and it's nutritious as well as delicious!
So far since I have been an ambassador, I have had a MARATHON® Bar before the race begins in two different races. Each time, I have set new PR's by one whole minute! My next goal will be to beat my previous time by 2 1/2 minutes.
All who sampled the bars loved them and wanted to know where they could get more. I gave out coupons for $1 off and informed them of the website http://www.marathonbars.com/
Don't think these great bars as just for those in training. MARATHON® Bars are great for anyone who needs fuel for energy to get them through a long day. If you are a busy, on the go kind of person who enjoys a great tasting bar, try a MARATHON® Bar! I am completely hooked! Stay tuned for more posts to come.

Team Marathon Ambassador
Thanks to Active Ambassadors, I am being sponsored this season to represent Marathon Bars! I am excited to be part of this awesome team and I am looking forward to meeting the other team members. This year, I will be representing Team Marathon in my first half-marathon in Savannah this November at the Rock N' Roll Marathon/Half-Marathon series. Being a sponsored ambassador has a lot of exciting and fun benefits. So far, they have sent me the gear to wear in my training and in the races. I also recieved a supply of Marathon Bars to sample and to educate others about their nutrious and energy providing benefits. So, if you see me at any racing event, ask me about Marathon Bars and I will give you a sample!
